I have been trying for some time now to define the term eternal worship, but am no closer today than I was yesterday. The closest I got are the thoughts and views expressed in this book, and unfortunately, I have not been able to come up with a single sentence, or power quotation by which to define eternal worship. Despite this, allow me to paraphrase all I know and understand about this term into one sentence: if the worship we offer to God impacts eternity, i.e., the new life after all the old things have passed away, then it will be worthy of Him. The flip-side of this statement presents us with a unique challenge: if the worship we offer to God does not impact eternity, it will not be worthy of Him despite being worthy in and of the temporal things. Worship that benefits only the earthly realm will pass away like grass and whither like plucked flowers, but worship that focuses on the eternal realm will remain forever in the sight and Presence of God.
